It costs 77$ in Dubai duty-free and I feel it's quite overpriced for the quality.

chivas 18https://douongngoainhap.com/ruou-chivas-18-nam-123.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-85713224217699544.post-58182329674660000122019-07-17T23:16:21.914-04:002019-07-17T23:16:21.914-04:00Evan Williams Bottled in Bond is my go to everyday...Evan Williams Bottled in Bond is my go to everyday bourbon. I found Elijah Craig has shown a heavy batch variant post fire and it's continues. My reference to ...Hi Steve - I was drunk, I guess. My reference to "Old Bernheim" was incorrect. I was thinking of DSP-KY-31, the Old Heaven Hill Springs distillery (which was built in 1935 by the Shapira brothers Gary, George, Ed, Dave and Mose and which burned down in 1996). After the fire Heaven Hill bought the New Bernheim distillery from Diagio in 1999 and Heaven Hill has been distilling there since. The Old Bernheim distillery, dsp-ky-1, like the new one, was where I.W. Harper was distilled. It was rebuilt in the early 1990s, thus becoming "new". No Heaven Hill product was distilled at Old Bernheim. But I have been drinking Old Bernheim recently - a late 1980s bottle of JW Dant Bottled in Bond. Oddly, it was bottled at dsp-ky-31. I figure it was bottled after Heaven Hill bought the brand from United Distillers (Guinness' brand - prior to Diageo's formation). I think that bottle was on my mind. Here are 2 photos of it: JW Dant Old BernheimNewYorkJoshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01236276465833621198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-85713224217699544.post-18309078644810056072019-07-13T06:59:20.766-04:002019-07-13T06:59:20.766-04:00This is an absolutely terrific review, soaked and ...This is an absolutely terrific review, soaked and besotted with knowledge, well thought out and articulated. I'm fairly new to bourbon, so I was not drinking those wonderful old Elijah Craigs (that scored highest here) when they were available in retail. I have a kind friend, however, who let me taste one of those last year. He called it the "original bourbon and Coke" because of its flat cola texture and dark caramel taste. It was surreal. Your descriptions of it here brought me right back to that moment.
You also described one of the whiskey's aromas as "corn husks," which was perfect. I've forever struggled to name that sweet-grassy-milky aroma, but you've solved that for me. Muchas gracias! Now, a question:
Why the Old Bernheim vs. New Bernheim references since all pre-fire HH came from Heaven Hill Springs Distillery in Bardstown? I saw a DSP listing just moments ago that refers to it as "Old" Bernheim as did you. He'p out this willing student! And keep up the great work! Terrific reading.Steve Coomeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05764025170576929663noreply@blogger.com
